MEM Experimental Arts International Festival have kindly invited me to take part in this years event. I will be creating a new piece for the festival, the performance/installation ‘Súil Eile’, drawing on the personal this piece will be a progression of a previous work Through the Eye, (Madrid 2019) looking at an old west of Ireland tradition, were a mackerel was placed in a bowl beside the head of the deceased, so that the soul of the dead can pass through the eye. ‘Súil Eile’ will focus on a sharing of energy, offering a space for interconnection, beyond words.

My short film ‘Pressure’ will also be screened as part of the festival.

‘Pressure’ (2023), is a personal expression encapsulating the strain or pressure that we can experience in life, as if all is closing in. Threading through the piece we hear an inner voice holding out against external forces, a voice that allows us to persevere and withstand challenging times.

My participation in the MEM Experimental Arts International Festival is kindly sponsored by Culture Ireland.
