‘I do not repeat performances, rather they evolve and progress over time. One such series of works that have developed began in 2019, with a work titled Severance (2019) at 60 – 120 breaths at Flax Art, Severance II (2021) for PEPA | Online N.Y. / Madrid event (during Covid restrictions) and Severance III (2021) performed at the MAC, Belfast. This series of works looked at division leading to the divided self, with each work incorporating the action of a line drawn up through the body, within Severance II this line was crossed out as a rejection of division and within Severance III the material line was washed away as a performative action, Severance III, also incorporated soil/land from the North of Ireland and the South of Ireland both were brought together during this performance to form a circle around a vessel of water in which the line was washed, this soil was then placed where the other had been sourced extending the performance beyond the gallery space into the realm of private witnessing.’
